Passenger Traffic Grew at Lithuanian Airports in November

Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) handled more than 526.5 thousand passengers in November. Compared to November 2024, passenger numbers increased by nearly 8 percent.

Vilnius Airport served over 379 thousand passengers, Kaunas Airport handled more than 111 thousand, and Palanga Airport welcomed more than 36 thousand travellers. Against the same period last year, passenger traffic in Vilnius grew by almost 11 percent, Palanga saw an increase of 7.7 percent, while Kaunas recorded a slight decrease of 0.9 percent.

In total, 4,510 flights were operated across the LTOU network in November – 4 percent more than in November last year. Vilnius Airport handled 3,232 flights, Kaunas Airport – 894 flights, and Palanga Airport – 384 flights.

Passenger flows in November were also affected by temporary airspace restrictions at Vilnius Airport. Throughout the month, airspace above Vilnius Airport was temporarily restricted seven times due to detected navigation markers characteristic of contraband balloons. As a result, 128 flights and more than 17 thousand passengers were affected. It is estimated that the share of impacted passengers represents around 5 percent of all travellers served at Vilnius Airport in November.

Comparing the statistics of November this year with the same period in 2024, the winter aviation season has started more actively this year.
