«airBaltic» Reports Traffic Figures for January 2026

In January 2026, the Latvian airline airBaltic carried 338 500 passengers across all its bases, a 3% increase compared to the same month last year. This represents the highest number of passengers the airline has ever flown in January. During the month, airBaltic operated 3 507 flights, up 5.2% year-on-year.

The load factor decreased by 2.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year, reaching 72.7%. This reflects the impact of pricing adjustments and increased capacity versus last year, which slightly outpaced passenger growth during the airline’s traditionally low season.

For the upcoming summer season, airBaltic will introduce 14 new routes – eight new destinations from Riga, Latvia, four from Tallinn, Estonia and two from Vilnius, Lithuania. In addition, the airline plans to increase flight frequencies on 30 existing routes from the Baltics.
