The flavours of autumn are ready to surprise you! From 13 to 22 November, Valmiera Region Restaurant Week will invite guests to a table where seasonal products, the work of local producers, and the creativity of chefs come together to create a special dining experience. Six restaurants and cafés have prepared special menus in which local ingredients take on new flavour dimensions, while familiar autumn products ar revealed in unexpected combinations. Each restaurant and café will also highlight one of its collaboration partners—a local business or producer from Valmiera Region whose products have been given a special role in the menu created for this event. Now is the time to discover the menus and treat yourself to a leisurely evening at a beautifully set table!
Restaurant “Rātes vārti” – A Play of Goat’s Milk Flavours
Reklāma

Restaurant “Rātes vārti” will showcase the flavours of goat’s milk from the “Gredzenmuiža” farm in both savoury and sweet creations. Goat’s cheese with plum gel and coffee caramel ganache with hazelnut praline will offer an opportunity to explore contrasting flavours and textures. For a heartier treat, the restaurant will serve slow-braised leg of lamb accompanied by smoked autumn root vegetables.
The “Hotel Wolmar restaurant” – The Power of Hemp in Every Course
Hemp from the “Adzelvieši” farm will feature throughout the Hotel “Wolmar” restaurant menu, adding a distinctive touch to every course. It will enrich a cheese mousse with rye, pumpkin, and apple, while in the dessert, it will combine with blackcurrants and sponge biscuits to create an expressive blend of flavours. The choice of main courses will offer something to suit different tastes: sturgeon fillet with parsnip, beetroot, and pumpkin, or venison fillet with chanterelles, lingonberries, and apple. Or perhaps you will be tempted by portobello mushroom with parsnip, porcini mushrooms, and pearl barley? Different flavours, united by one common ingredient—hemp.
Restaurant “AKUSTIKA” – Honey with Character
Honey can bring both gentle sweetness and a bold, distinctive flavour to a dish. At restaurant “AKUSTIKA”, guests will have the opportunity to discover honey from the “Ozolu bites” farm in a variety of creations. In the creamy pumpkin and coconut soup, rowanberry honey will be paired with chilli and ginger. Meanwhile, lamb marinated in cranberry honey and honey-caramelised vegetables served with lingonberry sauce will reveal the many nuances of honey. And, of course, no meal would be complete without a sweet finale: “AKUSTIKA”’s special interpretation of honey cake.
Valmiermuiža Beer Kitchen – Quail Takes Center Stage
Quail eggs from the “Ibsenu paipalas” farm will become much more than just a breakfast ingredient. They will become one of the stars of the special menu at Valmiermuiža Beer Kitchen. A slow-cooked quail egg will be accompanied by Gorgonzola sauce, a potato pancake, autumn mushrooms, and sun-dried tomato, while quail breast will be served in a seed-bread crust with parsnip and beetroot cream and shallots marinated in porter beer.
The main-course selection will also include goat’s cheese croquettes with caramelised colourful beetroot and hulled oat grains. Quail eggs will continue their story in the dessert too—in a liqueur-infused baked custard topped with meringue made from quail eggs.
“Ahh-Meat” Café – Lamb with Distinctive Flavour Accents
Slow-cooked lamb confit, smooth parsnip purée, roasted hazelnuts, and an aromatic broth and mustard sauce—the lamb from Lamb club deserves special attention on the menu at “Ahh-Meat” café! Vegetables will complement the dish, while those who prefer fish will also be able to choose grilled zander from Lake Burtnieks. To round off the meal, a cheesecake with caramelised apples and the café’s homemade caramel will make a delicious reward.
“Būda” Café – Rye Bread in a Variety of Flavour Combinations
The flavourful rye bread from “Oša maize” will be reimagined at “Būda” café, featuring not only in familiar ways, but also in unexpected flavour combinations. Guests will be able to enjoy it with whipped cottage cheese and garlic, homemade pickles, and a cream made with rye bread and smoked meats.
For the main course, the café will serve perch from Lake Burtnieks, accompanied by lemon and butter sauce, a purée of hulled peas cooked in white wine, smoked meat sauce, and rye bread croutons. The dessert will continue the story of rye bread, while a sorbet made from late-autumn apples will bring a refreshing seasonal touch to the menu.
